Maya Displacement Maps


In this demonstration we go through creating displacement maps and rendering them in Maya 8.5 Topics include baking displacement maps from combined geometry, rendering the results, correct AO passes, and more.

You were getting that patchy look because you used JPEGs for the displacement which uses a patch pattern for its compression scheme. You need to use TGAs TIFs or PSD's. Otherwise nice vid.
