ZBrush Sub-Surface Scattering

HD | SD
video player

In this demonstration Tony Reynolds starts off by creating a sub-surface scatter material in ZBrush and then renders out a portrait with BRP into render layer passes. From there he takes the layers into Photoshop to composite them into a final image.

Tony Reynolds also created the Portrait Production DVD. Make sure to check it out for a wealth of information on skin shading.

Ysengrin   - I used the base SSS shader from the DemoSoldierSSS project and altered the settings heavily. My material can be downloaded if you purchase the tutorial.

Please consider supporting Eat 3D by purchasing a HD version of this video that comes with the project files. The purchased version comes with 1 HD MP4 file at 1280x720, the final composited PSD, and the .ZMT zbrush material file.

If you want to "turn off" the diffuse or specular layers in the material, instead of changing values to zero you can click the circle graphic in the shader layer button. It's an on off switch allowing you to deactivate the layer for fine tweaking.

Is there anyway for me to download this video?

I remember sometime ago there was an option to download these free videos by paying. I would like to buy this and another "free" video so I can have them on my computer. But I'm not finding the option anymore. Did you guys stop allowing the download of the free videos?
