I have seen it posted that this video is recorded in real time however i feel as though perhapse its hevily edited even sped up in parts and the voice dubbed over the top. In parts it seems like the instructor is moving so fast it couldn't possibly be real time, for instance when he is saving out his TGA files after editing them in photoshop then switching to unreal and updating them ... Im sure its down right un human!

So my question is ... Is this video sped up and then the voice dubbed over the top ... or is this all recorded and displayed in real time?

Hey TarickTDS,

Riki is actually that fast mate!

Sticking out tongue

Seriously though, I believe that in this case the video was recorded at the same time as the audio and was then edited and some parts were sped up purley for length reasons.

Riki should be able to answer this a little better though Smiling

Hello!!

Yes I did record this one real time, which means I did the audio the same time as the video. I did however go back and edit the entire thing to speed up slow parts and remove mistakes. The editing process takes a long time and its done to make sure the pace is good and you dont fall asleep. Smiling

The pillar was not done real time, so it actually took me about 8.5 hours to do the full pillar and it was edited down to 3 1/2 hours. Then I dubbed my voice over the top. Also the new fountain DVD coming out this weekend is also dubbed for the same obvious reasons.

It was a risk to do the texturing real time, I say that because you never know if it will turn out ok. I felt confident and just went with it and next thing I know it was done and looked great, so I got a bit lucky I guess.

We would love a review or even some comments about the DVD itself and what you thought of it. This is to help others make a decision if its worth the money. Smiling

Thanks for the purchase and suport!

Fantastic Video really, i loved it! Well im still watching the final few parts but certainly going well!

So let me get this straight ... There are parts that im watching that are sped up? for instance when you are saving those files out and reloading them in UT3 editor. Also when you are moving around some of the layers etc, it looks real fast sometimes.

It would just be nice to know that i dont have to be a cyborg to keep up with you Ricky Eye-wink

Regardless of if these ellements are sped up, it does not effect the quality of the DVD or its effectiveness in teaching me what i wanted to know, Its just for interest sakes that i ask.

Great Vid M8!

Yeah, if you saw my premiere file you would think Im crazy for spending so much time editing. Every part of the video is talored to be presented the best I know know. Usually when something is done the first time I will make sure you know what Im doing, then after that I may speed it up because youve already seen it. Some people like to fade in and fade out and just remove those steps, but I like to keep it all in the video and try not to remove any steps, instead I just speed them up. Premiere makes this process as painless as possible but its still tons of work. Im not a cyborg though, hahah. I did luck out with getting this looking good at the first go, but thats not always the case, I spent a month on just making the high res looking good so really once you have that, its all downhill from there.

Thanks for the compliment, It is definitley the favorite and I plan to make a part 2 in the future. If you have any suggestions about that let us know!
