Hi everyone,

As I do not owned a tablet, I'm thinking of getting one. Due to low budgets, I'm looking on Wacom Bamboo (not Bamboo Fun). I will like to seek everybody's opinion and will like to hear if there is other brands which is cheaper and somehow on the par with Bamboo for a beginner like me to start with. Thanks.

This is tough for me to comment on because I have never used a graphire or bamboo. It seems like these would work fine if it came down to that or nothing. I would suggest trying to find a good deal on a used intuos 2 or 3 but if all fails the bamboo wouldnt be horrible.

Let us know what you get and how you end up liking it!

Hi Cyph3r and Riki, I will take a look on 2nd hand market and see if I could find a good deal. Previously I checked for the used intuos 2 and 3, it seems quite expensive as I believe they are still quite demanded in the market.

I have a question for Riki, is the sizes of the tablet make a different in doing 3d works or is depend on the preference of an individual artist?

I think you would want at least a 6x8. Most people I know found this size to be most suitable. 4x5 is tempting but I know some guys who got it and its just way too small. Others like the large ones like the 9x12 but its rare because you have to use your whole arm to do the painting instead of your wrist.

Try going with the 6x8 or 6x11 (thats what I have cause I have dual monitors and it helps a little).
