Hello
i made a base mesh in 3ds max and imported it into mudbox.
I detailed it and i needed to go very high! Around 15 million polys before it looks good in Mudbox.

With ALOT less polys i can archive the same result in Z-brush.That's the feeling i get anyway. When i then export a 3 million poly mesh from z-brush and import it into mudbox it looks pretty bad and lost the details i could see in z-brush.

Is it just me or do i get more detail in z-brush per poly or is it the viewport shader that makes z-brush meshes look better and sharper in some way?

Well I dont know what to tell you honestly. They dont look all that dissimilar in my opinion. But if you feel you are getting results more intune with what you are looking for in Zbursh, I would say continue to use it.

Some people go their whole lives without losing their minds. What truly sad lives they live.

looks like the matcap you are using, the default red tends to over detail places.. meaning it looks more detailed than it actually is..the sculpy matcap seems to give a better representation i would maybe try some others. but i may be wrong.

yea i have to agree as well with Chris. The material in Zbrush shows the details a lot more but they are still the same.

It may have something to do with the smoothing as well. I think zbrush by default facets every face and it gives it a sharper appeal. In Mudbox it looks like its smoothing across everything. See if there is a setting somewhere that turns the smoothing off in Mudbox. I could be wrong but its worth a shot. Smiling

Thanks a lot guys!Well I'm pretty sure its no difference between them,I just think the mesh looks nicer in Z-brush but i really hate the Ui in zbrush,"chaos" is the right word i think! Smiling
