Weapon tryouts [100% Zbrush]
Hey there, I've been lurking for years on this super cool forum. but never really posted anything.
So here's my latest project I'm working on.
My Zbrush Hard surface tryouts. i need to brush up my Zbrush skills
Starting with this one the Nerf scout.
Enjoy
All C&C are welcome, and more is coming.
Thanks for dropping by
Hey j 24 thanks for visiting, hmm modeling was pretty fast. ( less then a day ) i had the biggest problems with the retopologizing. i think the next time i will make a zbrush modeled gun i will start in Maya again
thanks again
Awesome work!
Can you post a larger version of the texture please?
Promoted!
(I transferred the images to the eat3d attachment service so that I could add the post to the top row)
Haha nice to get promoted on my birthday, thats a nice surprise. i will upload some other textures tomorrow. today is party time thanks again
will make a great tutorial. "next-gen" weapons in zbrush, include the tutorial on normal, spec and diffuse maps in photoshop! please make it for maya users!
Hey Bertmac! Nice looking weapon. I've still got a lot to grasp when it comes to Zbrush. I've done most of my hard-surface stuff in Max, with small detail bits done in Zbrush. Great work
Right as promised, bigger textures i hope these are ok. thanks
@h2c3po55r , i am sorry dude, don't understand what you're saying. are you saying that it would be great tutorial for eat3d. if so... i think not Im not 100% convinced about this pipeline yet.
it fun to to do and manly for learning propose.
@instg8r, dude stick with that way you're doing it now. i mean if you wanna freestyle a bit ok go use Zbrush. but for correct object or something stick with your regular (Maya Max) for now that is maybe it will change in the next zbrush release hehe. ps your models look cool
@ all : well i am not 100% convinced about this method. so i am making an other one i think to see if this one goes better( it should )
thanks again

Thanks for posting
I think it would be better if you posted individual textures, rather than having all 3 in one picture (as above) as you can't see all your texture and people might want to look at something that is obscured.
For example, we cant see the normal or diffuse for the bottom right part of the textures etc.
Also, please consider using the Eat3d attachment service as this stops links from breaking in the future and uses our bandwidth
hi,
it' s very nice job guy !
Super. Can you make short tutorial?
Right i was still not all that convinced with the technique and pipeline i use with the last gun i made
So i made an other one.
But still i think this is not the best way. nice and fun but not effective or something.
What do you think??
Thanks for dropping by. and of course C&C is still welcome.
@ gibgib hehe nice first post.

Hey Nice Work,,
Did the AmmoBox challenge here at Eat3D/challenges, although its over i dont think i am done yet.
So i could use some help
tell me what you think
i think i need some more work on the gloss :D
So C&C is very welcome
Thanks

I don't know, man. The ammo cans look great to me! Seems like you dig the orange/black color scheme
Thanks dude. but i think the scratches need some more work, also i should do more with the normal map. there is nothing in there.
thanks again
Here is something you could try. Not sure how it will look but I think it will be an improvement.
1. Desaturate everything accept the orange by about 20%
2. Create a Detail normal of noise plastic or dense stucco (But on a micro level)
3. Implement some gentle metal dings and un-even surfaces in the normal map
Hope that helped
-Jeremy-
Nice man, when you do a tutorials? at least about texturing? Everyone knows you are awesome)) maby its time to teach us (or me) something?
@ Jeremy yep thats the plan + i want the paint chips to be more clear. so yeah were on the same page hehe
@ gibgib A tutorial, your really serious abou that he. well i am honored but 4 real there is no need for me to do a tut. I learn it all from this website. you should take a look at the pillar and the next gen texturing DVD. i thought me everything i know.
thanks all i hope to update soon
