hey, got a team project for school wich involves spaceships. We didn't get any concept art so I made my own concepts of a racing spaceships. Gonna start with the block out very soon.
very very very early wip, the front is ok atm but the back needs work. This is probably the hardest thing i've ever made in 3d since it's coming from my own and no blueprints, only a side view as ref. Having fun though

played some more with the bend and did the wings. Doing the afterburner or thruster (don't know the real name of it ) in the middle
did the gun in the front, but still need to make the holes quad. I've also put some seams in the front wing. Afterburner is done. To do: gun(it's a silenced particle canon in space ) , and the whole body

thx, sure here are the wires they are a mess however atm , but it's nothing i can't fix . I'm gonna detach the boxes in the middle to have a less complicated wireframe
hehe, here's new and much cleaner version gonna call it a day for now, thx for mentioning this metalliandy. I've left the turbosmooth at 1 btw......just noticed I've removed the tholes in the middle lol.

We are planning on doing a space RPG game in the Cryengine 3 and with models like this you would be a huge asset!

I love all the detail work, especially on the back missile/engine sections! One minor crit, where you have that 'window' into the internal parts behind the pipes, you might want to do something to make it look less polygonal. Right now it stands out because it looks low poly in silhouette. Other than that, really cool!

No sweat. I drew lines to highlight the shape that I'm talking about. You can see when there are lines on it, it highlights how polygonal that opening looks. The stuff inside is sweet. That's all, minor crit.

I've set up some lighting in my file and started testrendering
Would be really nice to see some different shaders where you plan on having different materials. With all the small detail work, it becomes difficult to see clearly what that might look like.
these are just some test renders , not represent for the final, i'm going to add textures and for the body and little parts. the pc's at my school are kinda powerfull and rendering goes fast. just 1 last render and will start texturing

busy with unwrapping, but also started with blocking out the cockpit
new cockpit design, didn't put a lot of detail in it cause it's unsure wheter we'll have shots from the cockpit.
here's a platform i've made for presentation. the bars are suppused to be illumated but it's not showing in viewport
thx hires, wasted a lot of time with unwrapping this. i'm never ever ever unwrapping a high poly piece again, here's a simple render with textures still need to fix the reflections. I turned turbosmooth off atm cause my computer coudn't render it
