Render Practice
Hello,
I have been practicing rendering a bit in an attempt to pick up an internship. This is what I came up with on my first attempt. I look forward to hearing everyone's opinion on the result.
Oh, and I posted in Work in Progress, because if anyone points out some major errors, I'll go back and correct them.
thanks for looking.
Needs more cowbell.
Not much of an expert when it comes to rendering and so on but I think the image would benefit from some sub-surface scattering on the drapes.
1) The DOF is strange. The right curtain shouldn't be unfocused.
2) The ceiling must have light spots above windows.
3) Outside should be brighter.
And as for me, I would make furniture arrangement more chaotic, not such straight lines.
Good luck
The scale on the bricks are off. they are to big. Good luck! looks promising
Nice job
Apart from what everyone else has said, i dont really have any crits.
i think u should only ever choose one point to blur in ur DOF
I actually preffer this focus distance and depth pinch. Having a central area surrounded by dof with a specific distance set can make your image amazing. And its not only used by photographers, but is actually very common in architectural renders that are selling a certain element in a piece.
Here is an example where having a focal point set surrounded by dof can sell a product and its realism. The image below is a 3D Render:

Oh, I already noticed an error now that i'm stepping away. The bricks on the brick wall look a little big, and the bump map is off. I will fix that.
