Exclusive: Scifi Jet
To start this thread off, I want to say that I will not be posting this anywhere else but here until I am done (I may link my progress though). I really liked how you guys responded to the other thread.
Anyways, I've been really busy lately, and still am. I was supposed to be working on a different model, but I can't seem to make it look right, so I decided to move to something completely different. I came across a really cool concept, sadly I don't know the artists name. So if anyone know's who the real artist is of this concept, would appreciate it!

I am aware of some bad geometry. Its really WIP right now, so I will be fixing a lot of stuff.
Concept and wip so far:
Wow, that looks like a really cool jet/attack helicopter hybrid
:D Love it! Going to keep checking in on this!
Cant wait to see more of it!! oO
The concept is so awesome!! And your modeling begin very well too!
Waiting for updates!
Alright, so I must be doing something wrong, because I cant get the front to look right. I am aware of pinching, but that's the least of my worries right now.
Well in your first post, the front looks pretty good, and then this new update it looks like you moved the front part forward for no reason.
The artist who created this wonderful concept is: Paul Chadeisson

This looks like a lot of fun
Can't wait to see more.

There you go being a smartass again, NOBODY CARES!
..... jk
Sexy. But regarding your canopy, i would place it at greater angle ( as it seems to me is on the concept art ). It is likely a pilot - gunner configuration, and the rear pilot should be somewhat above the front gunner.
Also, i don't know is your goal to make it exactly like the concept or not. If accuracy is your goal then consider this.
Keep it up!
Looking pretty slick so far!
I also concur with Gundark about the arc in the canopy.
In the concept art it's one smooth line to the front, but you modeled it with a kink in it.
For the shape you don't seem to get quite right:
I suggest that you fill up the rest of the front, so you can compare it with the CA and see what needs changing.
That's how I would do it anyway ^^
And as Razor said, that front part was better in your first post.
I just came across that concept art the other day and placed it in my "To Do" pile. Good work so far but you may want to post wireframes when asking about issues that involve pinching. It can be easier to draw over your wires instead of explain without visual landmarks.
wtf Josh, how did u not tell me ur wkin on something so awesome!
Thats a great start.
Keep in mind that ur main concern is not to break the overall curves of the surfaces wth complex support edge structures (ur goal is not to try to get all the detail from the concept onto the model).
My point is that I would rather see clean model with less detail than a supper detail with edges where there should be curves.
More please
More please
I notice you are always pestering people for updates
Need an update!! =D
Wow talk about comments!
Here is what has happened so far:
Life and school.
I had no time to even open max in weeks. Today I finally got a break to start on what i have missed. I will post pics up asap. Maybe even tonight.
@Razor: yea you are right. I worked off the old design when making the new, but I didn't notice that the new parts were smaller.
@ceribral: Thanks for the info!
@Gundark: You are dead on. I wanted to fix this, but because I already placed constraints on the model, I couldnt adjust it without doing a lot of work. Thanks!
@metalliandy: Thanks and will do.
@Arthaven: Yea, will do. Thanks btw.
@roosterMAP: Hey! Here I am thinking you don't surf these forums.
You are right about the detail. I am going to start from the back and move forward this time and see where it gets me. Thanks! Btw, how is texas? Message me when you get back.
@the rest: Lol, will do!
-GETS TO WORK-
Love it.
Oh my god!!!
That is truly AWESOME!
Cant wait to see more of it!
Oh heck yeah! Those vertical wings look to be more of a smooth arc in the concept than the staggered look you currently have. This is looking awesome though. :)
great job so far. Hard surface is a hard thing to make look good. Mad props bro
Nice work you are doing here.
This is like porn for 3d Artists
I won't be able to work on this model untill I get back from Chicago next week on Tuesday.
