Hi there!!

I'm a new member on this forum.
So first I'll introduce myself quickly!

My name is Florian Desaunay, I'm a french environment artist. Curently, I'm searching for a job anywhere on Earth! =D

That's why I've decided to work hard, building my portfolio.

Here is the link if you want to have a look! Eye-wink

I have already open many wips on french 3D website and on Cgsociety and gameartisans forums. But I decided to open one more here in order to have as much feedbacks as possible and to be visible everywhere in order to meet people and why not find a job!

So I've begun a new work a few days ago and here are some images of it!

I write HD links under images Eye-wink

Haha! That's awesome! Its your Jacobethan style fountain wip which made me want to model a monument like this one!

And thank you so much for the videos you have done metalliandy. I have learned about projection in Zbrush watching them! =D

(thanks for the advice about the forum spothlight and for puting my wip at the first page of EAT3D !!)

Here are some of the high poly models =)
Hope you like them!

Hey Flo, remember me mate? Glad to see you here as well ^^ You've done so much since you first started this thread on 3DVF with your crossbow. Really like your Zbrush work. One question though, since I also do some environment art on the side. How did you work on this acanthus flower thing on the last pillar (that leaf that curves back and forth midway). Was it some kind of radial symetry, projection master or whatnot?

Great work anyway ! I'll see ya on 3DVF Eye-wink

Hi Manuleptit1! Of course I remember you! I follow your work on 3dvf since you have post your skaven wip Eye-wink

I'm realy happy to see you here!

To answer your question, I have made the flowers on the pillar using radial symetry =)
I have sculpt one of them and the symetry has done each other

Happy to see you like my work! =)

Hi Ceribral! =)

Thank you so much for your comment!

I have look at you website, your work is truely AWESOME!

I'm coming today with a big update! =)

Here are some real time renders made in marmoset of the full Indian temple!

Hope you like it! Eye-wink

The renders are a bit bright. Hard to see the real detail, but I know its there so... AMAZING.

Yet again good job! This will make a really great portfolio model.

Great work dude ! How can I not like it Smiling ?

I second Joshflighter in regards with the brightness of your renders. In Marmoset, under Light, try setting your sky lighting preset to "Sunset" and leave the sky brightness to its default value. Also I usually set the sky rotation to somewhere around 260. That should do the trick and show all these nice details that we know are there ^^

Great environment art again mate !

PS : Thanks for your workflow explanation ^^

I find that using Sunlight @.4-.6 with a blue and orange spotlight looks pretty nice in marmoset. Make sure you stick AO on max too Smiling

Hi!

Thank you so much for the feedback guys =)

Instead of using Sunlight in Marmoset, I choose to use Bluesky and work again on my normal maps in order to make them stronger =)

Sunlight was too hard for this scene. It made colors totaly burn. =/

Metalliandy what do you mean about AO in max? in the viewport you mean?

So here is an other update of this indian temple finished!

I've got some pictures and a video for you guys.

Hope you like it!

And thank you soooo much for reading and giving me your feedback!

Outstanding, Breathtaking... really great job you're showcasing here buddy.

What he meant by "AO on max" has nothing to do with 3dsmax, I think. There's Ambient Occlusion in Marmoset, just crank it up to the max Eye-wink

This is looking really great! I love the style and can't wait to see more.

One suggestion would be to add more color variations. Its very bland atm and looks as if you have 1 stone / or concrete texture and an ao set to multiply on it. Try breaking up all the elements into different color categories to really bring this bad boy to life! Laughing out loud

Also, please use the eat3d attachment system for your images. Its extremely easy to use and would be a big help. Thanks! Smiling

Keep up the hard work bud.

Hi there!

Thank you sooo much for your answers =)

Thank you for the advice ceribral!
Unfortunately I had to let this indian temple like it is in the last post in order to go ahead and build up my portfolio faster =)

Concerning the eat3d attachment system I don't realy understand what is this for...
Is it explain somewhere on the forum? Smiling

So here is a big update on this Bristol F2b plane =)

Modeling is finished. there is 3500 polys and a 2048/2048 map for AO and normal.

Diffuse and spec texturing incoming! Smiling

Hope you like it!

Previously when i said about sticking the AO to max, i meant making sure that the AO was set to maximum in marmoset Smiling

The eat3d attachment system is under the text editor and allows you to upload an image to the Eat3d servers which guarantees the image is always up as we host the bandwidth. It also allows us to do cool things like spotlight promotion Smiling

The plane is great, though for some a vehicle of that size you could get away with using much more polys which would help with the curvature of some surfaces (the front of the cockpit for example)

Keep up the good work!

I agree with Andy. It looks great for the polycount that you used. However, vehicles are something that you can easily get away with when it comes to larger polycounts.

Keep it up though!

hi there!

Thank you so much for your answers! I'll keep in mind that I can use much more poly for vehicles for my future projects =)

So here is the same plane with texturing done =) I'll post a video soon!

(Thanks for the advice concerning the file attachments system! thats so much better!)

Ceribral, yes thats right, that propeller is made of wood ^^

I'm coming today with a video update!

I have worked again on the geometry in order to avoid to see the polygons on the wings!

(I havent found a way to post a video inside of the forum =( If anyone knows how to do it...)

Once I'll have finished the texturing, i will make two LODs in order to decrease polycount and keep one object as nice as possible for my portfolio =)
