Hi,

I have  ZBrush Hard Surface Techniques tutorial. I'm trying to work under it, but I have some problem when I use clipcurve. Please see picture.

The author does not say in the video, how to avoid these problems, or how to fix them.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Jiri

Hey! yeah I have the same problem. Here's How I approach it. when I get the those weird edges I do one of two things.
1. I try to clip them off by using the clip brush again. works sometimes.

2. if one didn't work, ill use the slice cure to separate it as another group. then ill dynamesh it with groups turn on. then ill hide it and delete it.

the clip curve brush is a tricky brush because it doesn't actually delete it any of the mesh (or so it seems).  try to clip something and check out the active points. it won't go down at all. My guess is that it acually flattens what ever you just clipped. So for complex meshes where the part where your clipping is lager  in size of the mesh you want to keep, it will compress it beyond the mesh as shown in the picture. for example try to clip a sphere from the very  bottom. it won't be pretty!

I would say lean towards the trim adaptive/dynamic tool.  Also a great way to go about is to slice cure it and dynamesh it, the reproject if needed. For simpler meshes the curve too should be fine, as long as it isn't overlapping or is taller the the mesh your trying to keep. Hope this helps!
