xNormal says my model is less than 2 "units" and I should make it bigger. How big is a unit? It says to make it a little bigger but little is relative to how big a unit is. My character is 5 feet tall, so if a unit is 500 feet adding a couple inches won't do much.
Units are arbitrary between applications, so its hard to say.
Rather than scaling your mesh in your 3d application, you can scale the mesh in xNormal using the "Default Mesh Scale" in the Low and high definition mesh slots (at the bottom).
I usually set mine to 5
