Hey hey. Spent a while digging for a good concept and really liked the balance and structure of this heavy lifter. And away we go!

Never thought you could make a forklift look that cool, but there it is. Can't wait to see this one progress. Best of luck!

Started with the blades on the front but I've had to do some interpretation of the concept since a literal view wouldn't make any sense. This thing is supposed to be able to carry obscene amounts of weight so the design has to be believable. (I also don't know where the white bars in the screencaps came from)

It is stated in the rules that you Have to use the Eat3D Attachment System.

Model is coming along great Smiling
Perhaps a few more subdivisions on your TBSmooth would help to really round out some of those areas.

Keep it up man!

Finished the mounting of the blade mechanism along with some transmission and the front headlights. Moving along to finish the attachment to the rest of the body. Any critique is welcome

Still getting stuff done! Was out of town for a bit but managed to keep work going. This is all a rough-ish first pass, once the majority of it is modeled I will go back through to give it a cleaning up.

Perhaps a clay render?

Never heard of a clay render before. Do you mean with ambient occlusion baked into it?

Here are some examples of clay renders:

You can find tutorials all over the internet. Clay renders come in all different styles. Just go with which one you like the best Smiling

More detailed blocking out of the rear end and cockpit area. A lot of this is not finalized at all.

Just about every major piece in place. Now for a detail pass to make it interesting. I always kinda stumble on doing stuff like that, so we'll see how it goes :\

Just a quick reminder about the process for your final submission Smiling

Please ensure that your final submission has everything that is required for entry, edited into your first post (beauty shot's and turntables etc.)

  • You must provide an unsmoothed wireframe beauty shot of the finished model, from multiple angles.
  • You must submit at least 1 final beauty shot that is at least 1280x720.
  • You must submit at least 1 turnaround movie of the vehicle created in any application of your choice.
  • Post your final image on the first post in your thread using our "File Attachments" system.
  • Upload your video turnaround to a popular video sharing site (Youtube, Vimeo, etc) and post the link/embed in the first post of your thread in the " Video Link" field.

Also please make sure that you edit the title of your thread to have - Final at the end.

e.g. High Poly Vehicle - metalliandy - Final

Thanks and good luck! Smiling

Everything's all done! The youtube video preview has a weird yellow tint on it but the video itself is fine. Thanks for everyone's comments!
