High Poly Vehicle - SaferDan
Of course what was I thinking! I have had a look and can't find the artist who did this! I have the senior concept artist for Brink but I don't know who actually did it! I'll keep looking but if I can't find who did it I'll go with my other choice!
*EDIT* Ok I am pretty sure it was done by Laurel Austin who is the Senior Concept Artist for Splash Damage!
ahh nice!
I think Laurel did that peice too. I will ask around to make sure
Aww that would be awesome if you could! Thank you very much!
Ok I have spent the day working on the front grabber bit, I am thinking if i do the arm first I can build the body around it and hopefully all the proportions should fit, hopefully!
I am worried I am not putting enough detail in but I will carry on for now and I can just go back and add more if needs be.
Also I am unsure of the wires coming of the back of that camera thing, I don't know if that are a bit filmsy!
wow nice progress......
You are off to a great start! Love the ref image. Looking forward to seeing more.
Cheers guys! I am sure my progress will slow down whe I get to that body! I'll have more later
Nice blockout
Cant wait to see more
Cool man!
I love that concept too, so much that I made that same model 2 weeks ago, ahah!
(PS. Yeah, I believe the concept is from Laurel "Tully" Austin, or the paintover at least)
I really liked that concept. Great start modeling.
Thanks guys!
aww cool HP it would be awesome to see yours?
OK so thanks to the steam sales I have been a bit slow what with Torchlight only costing £6 now but I have mode progress and spent today catching up a bit!
I have finished the grabber and moved on to the arm. I was a bit confused about how the grabber actually attaches to the arm so I played Brink for a bit and checked it out. It looks like its a ball joint type thing so I referenced some and took it from there. The big pipes are causing me trouble atm but I think it's just because it's late so I will try again tomorrow! Anyway, pictures!
coming out nicely, its looking good can u post wireframe screenhot
Wow great progress!
This is really looking great
Can't wait to see more.

Looking great! Loving the detail so far.
Nice to see another Maya enthusiast on here as well.
ceribral - Thanks man!
McGregs - Thanks man! Yeah I have a lot of love for Maya! I have no clue what I'm doing in Max! I need to really sort that out!
Updates! Just working my down really! The bolt holes on the lower arm I am particularly proud of as they were tricky! Although I do need to go back and just refine them a bit!
Really sick progress
-Jeremy-
damn, how i love mayas viewport shading.
btw, trying to switch myself to maya and get used to it.
u r superfast man
Cheers guys!
ershov - if you have any questions or anything I can try to answer them! You aren't doing your entry in maya though are you?
Goten-trunk - lol yeah well I am a student and I have all summer and not a whole lot else to do!
no, max, but trying to do the same in maya)
Do I smell an update?!
LOL!
-Jeremy-
lol you do smell an update! I am late it was meant to be yesterday but I started the first Bioshock again and have since completed it! So progress is slow!
It isn't much of an update tbh but I have finished the base of the arm and started the body. The body is a massive pain and I am having trouble with it but I just need to spend more time on it!
My girlfriend is visiting me for the next four days so I won't be able to update as regularly as I have been. I hope its ok!
lookind good man. i like the details on it so far.
Great stuff man :)
Bioshock = (Nerdism) I love that game lol.
-Jeremy-
Cheers guys! Yeah Bioshock Infinite will be amazing!
I will have an update by the end of tomorrow the body is killing me!
Very cool work so far
Cant wait to see more!
Looking great man
Keep it up!
-Jeremy-
...it's been a combination of seeing my girlfriend and fighting so hard with that robot body!...
Your girlfriends a robot?...Look we have to at some point understand that human interaction is essential for us 3d guys and gals. Robots do not class as a meaningful relationship...oh sorry you were talking about the vehicle you’re making. Oh ok, never mind.
In all seriousness nice work so far
Looking great!
Nice job sir!

Lmao I wrote that and thought maybe I should change that...apparently I should have lol!
Thanks for the comments guys I should have an update tomorrow!
Sorry for the lack of updates guys I am really struggling with the lifepod bit of the concept! I think I am just over complicating it and so I have been fighting with it the past few days! I will have an update as soon as I have figured it out!
Keep going man, don't stop we'd love to see some more pics.
very nice work so far
I think the grips are way too big, if you look at the concept you're getting a few dimensions wrong.
The upper arm also looks a bit thin.
Good luck with this, keep up!
It does feel like I am fighting with proportion a lot. I shall go back and fix what you have pointed out
Cheers man!
That's why blockouts are so important, and that very important step is there for a reason, exactly to avoid strugling with dimensions latter on, always keep in mind the dimmensions of your blockout. If it looked good in the blockout, just keep the same dimensions and model the high poly within those boundaries.
Great job so far!
Can't wait to see the treads on this guy
-Jeremy-
Yeah I did have a block out but maybe it wasn't detailed enough. I also made the fatal error of taking my blockout and using those pieces of geometry and then messing with proportions and not having a blockout to refer back to if you know what I mean!
Anyway I went back to the rest of my blockout and have tried to fix the proportions, I think I have got there now but any crits would be awesome!
Awesome
Cant wait to see more!
Awesome work
