High Poly Vehicle - M1 Abrams

Hi All, first post and first contest. I'm going to be making a M1 Abrams tank, I've been working on this over the last few days, mainly blocking out the main shape. hope you guys like it let me know your thoughts.

Just wanted to throw an update in. I have some of the ref that I'm using and a few new screen shots of the tank. Still adding more shape to the M1 little bits here and there. I'm just using some place holders I made for the tracks while I workout the final design of them.

Thanks guy for the feedback, I really do appreciate it. 

Gauravcg the way I did these tracks was I modeled one track and the brackets, then I use a MEL script that I downloaded from Highend3D. All it does is instance's your model along a curve exactly like the 3Ds MAX script TrainMaker just not as good LOL. Here is the link http://www.highend3d.com/downloads/search?search=treads+script&x=0&y=0 I got the 3 bottom scripts they all sort of work the same and are a little bit bugy but they do the job.

Haven't been able to update in a while, been crazy busy. Just reworked the tank treads and modeled a M240 machine gun and a M2 machine gun, hopefully I should the whole tank finished soon. Sticking out tongue

Just a quick reminder about the process for your final submission Smiling

Please ensure that your final submission has everything that is required for entry, edited into your first post (beauty shot's and turntables etc.)

  • You must provide an unsmoothed wireframe beauty shot of the finished model, from multiple angles.
  • You must submit at least 1 final beauty shot that is at least 1280x720.
  • You must submit at least 1 turnaround movie of the vehicle created in any application of your choice.
  • Post your final image on the first post in your thread using our "File Attachments" system.
  • Upload your video turnaround to a popular video sharing site (Youtube, Vimeo, etc) and post the link/embed in the first post of your thread in the " Video Link" field.

 

Also please make sure that you edit the title of your thread to have - Final at the end.

e.g. High Poly Vehicle - metalliandy - Final
