Hello Everyone,

First poster here. Joined up to participate, hope that's okay.

I have no concept as of yet, just a couple of ideas that I'll be mashing up together. Should have a 3D concept posted soon.

HF everyone.

First wip blockout. Very quick to get the rough idea down. Intended to be a transforming walker type mech thing?

Good Morning E3D,

So I finally have a set direction I'm heading with the vehicle.

I'm going for something that will fit into Star Wars Pod Racing.

I have a more complete blockout done than the one shown, and I'm starting on some detailing now.

Updating on a bit of detail on the seat.

There's a bit more detail on the back, but didn't render that. Will wait till it's all attached together.

More to come.

Wanted to post this last update before heading to bed. Nothing big, really, just made a couple of small props that will be inside the cockpit and wanted to show wires for one of them.

The screen.

GN all.

Thanks Smiling

I have only made little progress today but I don't think it's worth rendering yet Smiling

Hopefully over the weekend I'll have more updates to post.

Good day folks,

First update of the weekend. Made the junction cables connecting the pod to the engines and also started some shader works for the final renders.

All that's left now are the back of the pod and the visible parts of interior.

I'm trying to aim for being done with modeling by next weekend so I can spend the rest of the time on working on the rendering Smiling

Hello all,

Another WIP update. Early looks at the interior of the pod. Not working as fast as I would have liked to today but this is something.

Thanks.

Are you adding any dettail to the back  of the cabin? behind the seat?  I assume you will have more things on the top part...

I liked how you managed the engines, pretty cool details on teh turbines :)

what renderer are you planning on using?

Thanks stascrash.

Yes, I am planning on adding some more detail, however, I am going for a balance. There still needs to be some rest areas, not detail everywhere Smiling.

I am using 3DS Max MR.

That wireframe overlay is a bit intense. Makes it hard to see the model. Good progress though!

Hi Jeremy,

Yea, I realized that a bit too late into the rendering and didn't want to re-render. I will tweak and repost the wires as well as some new WIP shots later tonight when I get home.

Thanks Smiling.

Man, I'm slacking. No updates all week.

So here is a redone close up render of the junction cable wireframe.

I also added a new image of the current state. I've had to change a few things so many times, it feel like I'm moving slower than normal. There goes my plans of having a lot of time to work on the render.

Update time!

I have decided due to the amount of time I "don't" have to work on this (not as much as I expected), I  will have to forgo doing the interior.  The original plan was to present with the door open showing the interior, but I won't be able to add as much detail I would like in the time remaining.

At the same time, it's rather difficult balancing the addition of details to what is supposed to be a streamlined vehicle (the pod).  Right now, the general profile of the pod looks like a fish Smiling (which BTW, was the original intention) so I'm happy with that.  What I'm worried about is that at the end of the day, it may not look as interesting when compared to when the interior was visible, but it'll have to do.  I'm also quite happy with the setup I have so far for the final render (not shown here).

Thanks for viewing.

Thank you guys. Appreciated. Everyone is kicking ass with their respective entries. Just fun to watch all the awesomeness!

Here is an update on progress so far.

To do: A few extra micro details, Set of cables connecting the rear battery, more render work. The renders are starting to take longer, may need a whole day to render out a pretty turntable!

Hey dude, I just noticed that I've been following this since day one and I haven't commented on it yet, how rude!

Loved the results so far, good modelling work overall, good luck man!
