Hey guys I decided that I would partake in this contest because I couldn't resist all the awesome prizes I could possibly win and I just made it to the contest thread and wow are there a lot of entries or what. Sticking out tongue The competition is really stiff, but I hope to take this experience to grow as an artist and create something awesome.

I realized if I'm going to even stand a chance against some of these already awesome entires that I would have to pick a big complex vehicle and this happens to be the Krupp Bagger 288.

The reference images on this vehicle are limited and I can't get any close up shots of the wheels and interior shots. I know this is an ambitious project to complete with a little over a month, but I am up to the challenge. Hopefully I will start the blockout today. Smiling

Edit: Hey guys here is all my stuff. The turntable, beauty render, and 3 wire renders. Enjoy!

Wow, I never knew this monster was even real Sticking out tongue
I remember telling my buddies while playing COD: Blackops "I don't know what crazy concept artist thought this thing up".

I am most definitely looking forward to this!
Best of luck Smiling

It's good to see you going for it. I'd be interested to see how you do the detail on the body as I think that is how people will be able to determine the sheer scale of the blades by how small the detail is on the body?

...waht do you maen I tlak fnuny?

I'm starting to think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this project. There just isn't enough source material to do an accurate rendition so I will have to freestyle it on some parts. Anyway here is a small update. I have started making the bridge for connecting the two vehicles together.

detailing is looking good - are you going to detail the circle in the middle of the blades, or leave that to the material?

...waht do you maen I tlak fnuny?

Dudeman95's picture

I don't think the circle in the middle is suppose to detailed. Anyway here is another update.

I like it man! If u wanna go insane, you could copy/paste bolts and nuts EVERYWHERE! But with model of this scale it could be a suicide..

Good stuff tho! Can't wait to see the final.

What r u going to be rendering with? Yafray?
