Good luck with the Beaufighter! Good choice since lots of details can be added to this plane Smiling Here's a reference picture of what is possible:

Cheers, BadKarma

Already had that ref in my huuuuuge folder (I think I have about 150 pics of this plane now Sticking out tongue )

Anyway heres my WIP engine, still have to add a couple of details, mainly to the cylinder head, but I'm also missing a couple of other bits:

We'll if you keep the rest of the plane as good as this initial stuff then it's going to look awesome. Nice detailing on the inside. Are you using max or zBrush?

Just a quick reminder about the process for your final submission Smiling

Please ensure that your final submission has everything that is required for entry, edited into your first post (beauty shot's and turntables etc.)

  • You must provide an unsmoothed wireframe beauty shot of the finished model, from multiple angles.
  • You must submit at least 1 final beauty shot that is at least 1280x720.
  • You must submit at least 1 turnaround movie of the vehicle created in any application of your choice.
  • Post your final image on the first post in your thread using our "File Attachments" system.
  • Upload your video turnaround to a popular video sharing site (Youtube, Vimeo, etc) and post the link/embed in the first post of your thread in the " Video Link" field.

Also please make sure that you edit the title of your thread to have - Final at the end.

e.g. High Poly Vehicle - metalliandy - Final

Thanks and good luck! Smiling

Hmmm, for some reason I don't seem to have a edit button on my first post, I'm probably overlooking it somewhere Sticking out tongue

Anyway, here are my finals Smiling

I'm not sure if it's cheating, but I Used a turbosmooth modifier and then put an edit poly on top so I could cut out certain sections of the mesh (for the wheels and gunports etc) without loosing smoothing once turbosmoothed again. Hence why my unsmoothed shot looks subdivided in some sections of the fuselage and engine housings.

Also: Turnaround:

Anyway, I'm off to continue working on my game res mesh of this, have to have a rudimentry texture on by tonight Sad

congrats! Tough luck on the other deadline, since you might have been able to poor some more details on this fella, like the gun turret. Are you making the low poly version for a flight sim? I'm thinking of doing mine in LP aswell, just as a good exercise. Anyway, post the texture if you can! Curious Smiling
