Added some hair details and started to consider colorizing.

To do list:

1) Add textural details to skin - eyes, lips, eyebrows etc.

2) Add materials.

3) Add polypaint.

4) Cross fingers that it all works out.

Beginning to color the materials. Still a little hesitant to change anything about her face. Lighting is still an issue as well.

Polypainting going along swimmingly...just so many darn leaves. Can't complain about a lack of colors to choose from. Heh. Wish I could remember how to save a mask as an alpha.

Thanks. I did the chess hand in 3ds Max and used the UVW unwrap modifier to create UV maps for the hand texture. I think I kind of like polypainting the sculpt better though. How about you?

Does anybody know how to do the turntable thingy that we need to have for our final submittal?

I am hesitant about the eyes. I have seen irises handled like this where they are sunk into the head and others have them pop out somewhat. Not sure what to do. May mess around with them a bit. What do you think?

For mapping, I use uvw unwrap, 'cause I got more control on the uvs (I can optimize my them... less space with nothing!!). But I don't work a lot with Zbrush ('V' Empire is just my third piece that I colorized with polypainting and that I'll finish). I've made more environment and Zbrush help me with grunge and destroyed pieces. Normaly I do texture in Photoshop and CrazyBump!!! (really sorry for my english!)

for turntable, you can pick it on movie button (I can't remember if you need to download turntable plus...but if you don't have it go on Zbrush official website). First place your model on the first frame you want to see on your turntable and then click the start button. Second pick the middle (if you need it) frame and click on the middle button. You need a stop frame so, place your model in position of the latest frame you want and click on stop button. You have to go on modifier and set how many frame  by second you want (FPS) the spin cycle etc. Finally, click on render movie above start and stop button.  I'm not a  'turntableplus' professionnal, but... I don't really use Mid button 'cause it's hard to have a good finish with. I've found a tutorial on that, but I don't know where is it... probably on youtube... (sorry). I hope this will help you!!! I'll try to find the tutorial, and send you the link!!! Or, I'm gonna try to make a test of turntable and record the process to put on you tube as a tutorial!!!

for the eyes, I dont really know. I never put eyes directly on the mesh... I use a sphere, put it in my subtools and keep it without major carving ( I bump a little bit the veins) . I'm surelly not the better man to say what is the best!!! But, my teacher (he work on game production as a characters producer) put eyes on a subtools unwrap them etc... You will probably find the best way to make your eyes when a base color will be put on. But, don't pick my opinion as a 'God revelation' !!!  ;P  I'm just a beginner who try to have fun with Zbrush!!! We've got a lot to learn and sometimes it's better to learn many different ways to do 3d characters or props!!! More characters we do,... more we learn!!! As my teachers said!!!  I hope you have a lot of fun to do that 'cause you're very talented!!!

This is great information. I am grateful for input from other 3D modelers. I feel like I barely know what I am doing in ZBrush. I have seen your entry and really like what you did. Thanks for the feedback. No worries about the english. I probably couldn't even understand your native tongue let alone write in it and reply to posts in it. You are very courageous. Thanks again.

I had the thought about the eyes on the mesh the other night. You are absolutely right. I should have used the method you describe with the eyeballs as subtools. I wonder if I can go back and do it that way. We will see. You have been very helpful.

Starting to polypaint. Had to go back to the drawing board with the eyes. Then I added a little asymmetry in the eyebrow and the mouth. She seems to be getting a bit of an attitude. I am not sure she likes me any more. Skin is not complete but I got tired tonight and wanted to post something.

Nice job dude!

My only critic is that it would be nice to have a iris texture in the eyes! I think it will definitely add life to her attitude!

Love the crown.....and I also think it would be wicked if she had hair blowing in the wind?...just an idea.

cheers

Thanks for the input. You are absolutely correct about the iris texture. I will make the adjustments. I will have to research the hair.

I would love to hear what you think of the final eye texture. It was lots of fun to change. I went for something less than realistic as she is not of this world.

Turntable plus was easy to use. I did find that if you poked around through the movie tab you could get away without using it at all though. The whole embed Youtube thing kind of threw me off but it all turned...heh...out in the end I think. Smiling

Hey Arun,

The eyes are much better and I like the fact you did them in the color palette of the crown!

Congratulations on your finished piece!

Cheers
