Garbage Dumpster

Here's a garbage dumpster I worked on this past weekend.

I might make some adjustments but i think overall its pretty done.

What was your technique for high res to low res?

You have any wireframes? I think you could get away with more detail inside the dumpster, i've seen binbags and rubbish modeled inside of props like this and still game worthy.

 

or even just sculpt a flat plane into in mudbox or Z and then deceminate it and project it onto the low poly version to get some nice rubbish.

Komradkyle - I used a projection map modifier to bake my Normal and AO maps from the High Rez. I manually optimized the high rez mesh to make it low rez. Just deleting edges and faces I didn't need.

 

Hunter1st - Yeah it would probably be a good Idea to add more rubbish to the inside. I'll post the wireframe when I get home from work later tonight. Binbags was something I thought about putting inside and a few around the outside. I might give that a go.

Did you use Max to create "dumpster"? or Z-Brush...I am just curious

Looks pretty good overall. You might want to dial down some of the dirt though.

Oh and on the top part where people have touched the lid with their hands is going to be scratched and worn down
