I re-created this model originally created by Paul Pepera as a means of bettering my skills. Here is a link to his Website from were i took reference for the individual art piece I have re-created. Yes sure...I used the image as a reference and made some slight changes....He truly is a great artist

Its not just "yeah sure" though. You need to give him credit. Just because you made 1 or 2 changes doesn't mean its no longer his concept. What you need to say instead of what you said above is something like:

It is copyrighted to him, so remember to always give credit. Simply changing 1 or 2 small things doesn't make it ok.
