... I'm a little worried that my limited experience with Max will render me clueless in some areas.

Does the DVD walk you through the steps as if you're new to 3DS Max? Or does it assume you have a lot of prior knowledge? I'm working on the development team for BIONITE: Origins, so I need to start looking at some better modelling techniques for my ideas.

The DVD does expect that you have at least a basic working knowledge of Max as it covers some pretty advanced modelling techniques. Hope that helps!

Ah thanks!

I'm mainly interested in modelling for games, but I wouldn't mind having the skills regardless. Would the 3DS 101 Tutorials give me the grounding I need to get through the Dozer Tutorials?

Yea, the Max 101 DVD has a huge amount of training and will get your feet well grounded. Aside from that just practice as much as you can with objects that are out of your safe zone...they only way to get better is to make something that you couldnt make yesterday Smiling
