He then moves on to create a quick and unique master lens flare material. Next, Jeremy shows how to create complex shaders using UV coordinates to manipulate world coordinate parameters and vertex animation. He then goes on to create a stylized shader that is decision dependent and will swap between multiple states to hide or reveal geometry before it plays its animation.

In this DVD, instructor Matt Skonicki explores plate enhancement and set extension. He starts off by going over the raw workflow with footage captures from the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera. From there he tracks the footage in Nuke and then begins rotoscoping for sky replacement using the new Nuke Planar Tracker Node. Next, he moves into 3D Projecting and does some cosmetic work on the plate by adding multiple glowing and flickering neon signs.

UDK Modular Masterclass - Efficiently Creating and Entire Scene with Tor Frick

DVD Information:
Apps Used: Photoshop, Modo, Unreal Development Kit (UDK July 2012). You can download it free HERE
Duration: 9 Hours

Project Files: Included is the final Unreal maps and packages.
In this demonstration Tor Frick guides you through building a scene from the ground up in Unreal Development Kit (UDK). He starts by blocking out the basic scene in UDK using BSP and then moves on to creating a base asset in Modo by using various poly-modelling and sculpting techniques, from which all the textures will be generated, and then bakes the Normal & Ambient Occlusion maps within Modo.

Autodesk MotionBuilder - Motion Capture Production Pipeline

DVD Information:
Apps Used: Autodesk MotionBuilder 2012, Unreal Development Kit (UDK). You can download it free HERE
Duration: 5 1/2 Hours
Instructor: Markus Hammarstedt
DL Filesize: 984 MB
Project Files: Included are the UDK files and MotionBuilder file as shown in the DVD. The character shown is a test character from a Bulletstorm video game, an IP of People Can Fly.
In this DVD, Instructor Markus Hammarstedt goes through the entire pipeline of taking several motion capture data files and creating a complex final scene. He starts off by giving an overview of the UI and then shows how to export your character from Maya and get it into MotionBuilder. From there he goes into assigning the bones and creating the bind pose. Next, he assigns the markers to an actor and takes that actor to retarget the motion capture to the character. Markus then takes the raw Mocap animation and selects the sections to use in the scene and create clips out of them.
