The scene baking plugin for 3ds Max has been updated with numerous new features, including an additional unwrapping mode for hard surface objects, auto adjusting of self-illumination of baked materials and MAXScript access for the bake element parameters.

While I was out of the office last week the team was busy cranking away at releasing
another Hotfix patch for the 2011 release. This makes for number 4 for the
year so far and our goal is to continue being as responsive as possible to critical

Autodesk have posted a cool video on containers in Max over at The Area.
The videos shows various tips and tricks when it come to using containers and is well worth a look for those who would like to know more about this very useful Max feature!

Autodesk has released some of the results for its Community Voice Update and are seeking more participants to answer questions!

Pratik Gulati has made a great tutorial for our friends over at CGTuts+ about modeling from photographic reference in Max.
The tutorial goes over how to adjust your camera in Max so that it matches the perspective of the original photo and goes on from there with some nice tips and tricks to help along the way
